Latest Trends In Magazine & Brochure Printing

Most publishing houses have a section dedicated to magazine & brochure printing. It is often the more exciting part of any publishing company as these are colorful and require design and layout skills. The qualified graphic designers do most of the design and layout and the writing of copy is done by the editorial staff. Most of the publishers have their own in-house printing presses making proofing and the signing off on jobs that much easier.

The most important aspect of these publications are that they are high quality and requires high quality photographs as well. They have their own photo shoots by an in-house photographer or they would bring in a photographer if they need a particular styling to the photographs (specifically as in fashion shoots). This is to be assured that they get the best resolution photographs with which to work.

The layout of the publication usually follows a particular format for as long as it is in print. This way you are able to recognize the publication from a distance on the newsstand. There might be some changes to this, should the publishers feel that it needs to address a different target market or age group.

The information publication, in most instances, follows the same rout in its production as any other publication. It has similar requirements in that it should be a glossy publication. The gloss could either be from the paper stock or there could be the addition of varnish. The varnish could be a general application. It is very often used on the cover, with matte inners.

The magazines are usually produced as monthly, bi-annual or quarterly publication. It is often divided into various parts which is run by the editors for each, an overall editor and the copy brought together by writers and freelance writers. The parts are divided into food, crafts, lifestyle and other sections and different additional information added to it. The overall editor decides what would be included and what should be excluded or can stand over for the next issue.

As everybody knows, the magazine cover may be the most significant component of any publication. The cover has the power to cause a buyer to pick it up and obtain it. You are able to see this if you check out a newsagents and observe the covers on several magazines.
The brochures are often done for clients, who would pay for design, layout and print. It is therefore presented in the style in which the client requested it to be in. It could also be that the designers are given free rein and would be able to come up with their own layout and design. The revenue from the magazine & brochure printing goes back into the coffers of most publishing companies.
